BUILDING COMMUNITY THROUGH PRESERVATION
Under the umbrella of The Ostertag Group, we've built a collective of several different brands with a single, uniform goal: to restore and preserve small town living for current and future generations to enjoy. Established in 2016, The Ostertag Group focuses on redeveloping rural, historic commercial buildings and businesses, as well as rebuilding surrounding neighborhoods to foster pride of ownership and a sense of community.
ML EDWARDS & CO
Originally built in in the year 1916, ML Edwards & Co is a historic general store, café and private event venue located on the square in Mount Vernon, Texas. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, ML Edwards is truly an east Texas treasure.
WATERMELON MILLS
Named after the beloved local barber who loved coffee almost as much as his community, Watermelon Mills is located on the square in Mount Vernon, Texas and features specialty coffees, espresso, teas and blended drinks.
OSTERTAG CONSTRUCTION
Located in the heart of historic Mount Vernon, Texas, Ostertag Construction provides new home construction and award-winning design, remodeling and historic preservation in and around the surrounding area.
